History:
Rozen, the famous doll maker, was travelling through different dimensions when he suddenly felt a pure aura nearby. Attracted by the aura he went over to the place where it came from and found out that it was the soul of a young maiden, who had just died. This maiden was Shizuka, an alien princess.

Amazed by her doll-like beauty and grace, Rozen decided to make the girl a new body and let her be reborn as the seventh and last Rozen Maiden. He thought that she could really be his Alice, but even though she was "More pure than any gem and more noble than any flower." she still wasn't perfect. But from all the Rozen maidens, Shizuka comes the closest to what Rozen believes is Alice.
That is why she is one of his three favourites, the other two are Shinku and Suigintou.
